Last week, all students in grades 6-8 completed their first chapter test of the year. As I feel the connection between school and home is important for the success of your child, I will be communicating with you throughout the school year regarding the results of chapter tests. This week a version of this letter will be sent home attached to your child’s chapter test, along with their mastery chart. This chart provides a breakdown of standards and objectives covered in the chapter, the assessment items used to evaluate student mastery, and their current standing on each, on a scale of 1-4.
4- Proficient with Distinction
3- Proficient
2- Partially Proficient
1- Substantially Below Proficient
Your child and I will met and discuss the method they wish to choose to prove mastery of these skills, if they have not met the objective. These methods are indicated in the last column of the chart. Together, we can help your child achieve each of these objectives!
Once you have reviewed this assessment with your child, please sign the chart and return with the chapter test.
Please contact me with any questions.
